Viva Las Vegas!

We finally got away, after more than three years. The last couple vacation we went on was a grand, two week, three country tour of Europe. It was absolutely wonderful, and we swore we would do it again soon. Then the next year, we were pregnant, and we never got around to that "babymoon".

Luckily, we have a wonderful family who offered to watch Penny for as long as we wanted. So, four nights, five days away in Las Vegas. It was...well, it was. We had a great time at parts, other parts were just ok. The main mistake was going when it was "cold" there (still 40 degrees or more warmer than home though!), and the pool at the Hard Rock Hotel was closed. This made staying there, where the party at the pool is apparently the main attraction, less than exciting.

However, we did find the Cosmopolitan hotel, the newest property on the street, which was just fabulous. It was shiny, and cool, and had amazing restaurants, and the only real cocktails to be found on or off the strip. We are on the lookout for any deals for a quick return trip - though next time, two nights is perfect.

Though, even with the small imperfections, it was still a trip to be savored. We had no worries about Penny's happiness - she didn't cry the entire time, though I also don't think she heard the word "No" the entire time either. We were on our own - and it was a wonderful thing, for a few days. However, the next few days when we were back to being a family, were even better. I think it highlighted how happy we are with our current life, the whole shebang.
